What’s Up With Programming?!

In this second month of our cycle we will be continuing our rotation to increase our cardiovascular “engine” as well as improve our gymnastics cycling. in the last month, we have added several metcons per week to improve our lactic acid threshold (i.e. E:30OM) as well as longer (i.e. 15min>) metabolic conditioning.Frequently these evolutions have been paired with a gymnastics movement for repetitions that allow us to maximize both the technique of the movement as well as the strength. Good luck with 20.5 and in your overall effort in the Open.

Olympic Lifting Update

We are getting into the last few weeks of this Olympic Lifting cycle! We will start to see some heavier percentages for complexes and putting together full lifts. Our goal would be to see all the technique work we have been putting in for the past few months start to come together to make our heavier lifts look and feel easier with the hope of adding some sweet sweet lbs!

Member of the Month

Our Member of the Month for November is Gabe Wapner! Gabe has only been a member with us for a little over 6 months now, but has fully immersed himself in the community. Often found at the 5:45 am class throwing down with all the other dudes, he has seen great progress by showing up regularly, seeking help, and trying new things. He even participated in this Septembers Garage Games competition and did awesome! We’re proud to have Gabe as part of our community – so click the picture and check out the video!

The Phoenix – Sober Active Community

For those of you that don’t know we work in partnership with The Phoenix organization on Monday evenings at 7:30pm to support a Sober Active Community. We are about to hit our 2 year mark working with the organization and wanted to highlight them and give all of our members more info on what the group actually is.

Here is a little bit more about them, but feel free to check out their website for even more!

Beyond overcoming the physical, mental and spiritual challenges of recovery, we know the hardest part can be breaking away from the people and places that surrounded one during addiction. Whether it’s finding new friends at home or starting over in a new city, this critical phase of recovery can leave people utterly isolated when they are most in need of connection.

That’s why The Phoenix harnesses the transformative power of community to give people in recovery the support they so desperately need. Whether you’re 10 years sober, just starting down the path to recovery or supporting someone who has made the decision to get clean and sober, our community is full of people who not only understand what you’re going through, but are ready, willing and able to give you the support to rise above addiction/substance use disorder…

All you have to do is take the first step through our doors.
